Bang & Olufsen and Fragment Design have unveiled a new collaboration reworking four of the Danish audio brand’s most iconic products through the monochromatic lens of Japanese creative Hiroshi Fujiwara.

Rather than feeling like a conventional tech collaboration, the collection sits closer to industrial design — where sound systems, headphones and speakers are treated as long-term objects of design rather than disposable electronics.

The release includes reinterpretations of the Beosound A1, Beoplay H100, Beosound Shape and the highly collectible Beosystem 9000c, all redesigned through Fragment’s signature black-on-black aesthetic and Bang & Olufsen’s precision-milled aluminium craftsmanship.

Visually, restraint becomes the defining language. Fragment’s iconic double lightning bolt logo appears subtly throughout the collection, while high-gloss black finishes and polished aluminium surfaces create a sharper, almost architectural presence.

The collaboration also introduces a new level of material experimentation for Bang & Olufsen. For the first time, the brand applied a specialised anodisation and hand-polishing process to selected portable products, creating a liquid-like reflective black finish that elevates the pieces beyond standard consumer tech.

What makes the partnership particularly relevant now is how naturally it taps into the wider convergence of fashion, interiors and technology. Audio products increasingly exist as part of a lifestyle environment — expected to integrate seamlessly into homes, wardrobes and creative spaces with the same consideration as furniture or fashion accessories.

That philosophy feels especially aligned with Fujiwara’s long-standing cultural influence. As one of the most important figures in modern streetwear and contemporary design culture, his approach has always been rooted in subtlety, longevity and emotional connection to objects rather than overt branding.

The result is a collection that feels less trend-driven and more timeless — designed for people who value both sound and the spaces they live in.

The Bang & Olufsen x Fragment Design collection launches globally from 3 June 2026.
