Leica Gallery London has revealed its latest showcase, featuring the photographic talents of actor, skateboarder, and photographer Jason Lee. Entitled “Jason Lee: Selected American Photographs 2008 – 2020,”Â
The exhibition comprises a collection of Lee’s artistic observations gathered during his travels around America. From New York to Texas, Nevada to Oregon, California to the Four Corner States, Lee’s photographs capture the beauty and contradictions of the American landscape in cool-toned visuals that evoke a sense of uncertainty.Â
The exhibition is set to run from May 12th to June 11th, coinciding with the release of Lee’s new book, TX | CA 17, published by Stanley/Barker.
In this exhibit, Lee’s photographic artistry captures the essence of the American landscape. He has been fascinated by the contradictions and conflicts that arise in the everyday view of our environment, and he explores these themes through his photographs.Â
Lee explains that he finds the strange and beautiful aspects of the American landscape in scenes that are often deserted and forgotten. His work is a poignant reminder of the complexities of the world around us and the uneasy coexistence of nature and humanity.
