Sonny Walker is a star in the making, to say the least. Here you will get to know more about him ... He has this boyish look with an editorial edge that makes him the perfect model for virtually every leading brand. Seeing a northern English boy killing it in the industry is always a good sight, I love knowing that you can find stars even in the deepest parts of the country. Sonny has been working for brands like H&M and Calvin Klein, showing up in shows and editorials all over the fashion capitals. Sonny is what we like to call here at the magazine The Perfect Lewis Boy because he embodies this forever young attitude with what the French would call a certain je ne sais quoi. With that being said, we couldn’t pass up the chance to have him sit for an Unfiltered Q&A before he blows up even more. Here's what Sonny had to say:
Hello Sonny Hi, guys. Where are you from? I'm originally from Liverpool, UK although I'm now based in London. How would you describe yourself? I would describe myself as a very chilled, laid back and easy-going lad. People usually describe me as being "cool" with a good sense of humour. How did you get into modelling? I was scouted on Instagram originally, I have always been into fashion and clothes and it came as quite a shock when I first got into it, as I didn't ever really consider getting into it. What was your first modelling job? My very first modelling job was Ecomm and lookbook for UK retail store Size. Which was a really good and reputable brand to start off, and a good start to my modelling career. How does it feel to be working with big brands like H&M and Calvin Klein? To be working with the likes of Calvin Klein and H&M is surreal! To be one day in their store buying underwear and clothes, then shooting for them the next abroad is absolutely nuts!! I’ve always loved Calvin Klein's clothes and underwear and EVERYBODY knows Calvin Klein!! The team behind both the brands CK and H&M really are amazing, so to be working with such brands with such lovely teams is really a blessing in itself. I'm truly grateful for having the opportunity. Are there any brands you haven’t yet worked with that you'd like to? There’s so many! But the ones I’d really like to work for would have to be Versace, Balmain, Stone Island and Topman would also be really cool. Is there a photographer you'd really like to work with? It would most definitely have to be Willy Vandeperre. I love all his work and feel all the projects he works on are so powerful and look so sick! He's got to be up there for me. What’s the most important thing you’ve learnt since you started modelling? The most important thing I have learned since I started modelling and that will always stick with me is patience. Patience is the ability to count down before you blast off. It's a very important thing to learn and remember.
What’s something you can’t live without and why? I cannot ever live without my music!! 90's R&B and Old Skool hip hop especially!! It helps me be motivated, chilled, happy and uplifted. Every day without fail I'll blast 2pac out on the speakers in the morning whilst having breakfast. I also can't live without my phone, not only does it have all my music on but it has so many pictures and memories I like to look through every now and then. What’s your favourite song at the moment? Favourite song at the moment would have to be an Old Skool banger "Do for Love" by 2Pac. Constantly on repeat, love it!
What do you like to do when you’re not working? When I'm not working I like to go boxing and gym, go out for food with friends and chill really, and socialise and watch movies! I'm just a really chilled person so when I'm not working I love kicking back relaxing! Food, music and friends are the ingredients to a perfect night in. Where would you like to be in 5 years? In 5 years I would like to have achieved a lot within the modelling industry. I would hope to be a reputable well-established model with my own brand in the future! It would be a dream to one day have my own clothes showcased down the runway at London or New York! Last question, where can people keep up with you and find your new work? People can keep up with me and find my new work via Instagram @sonny.walker1. I'm a very active user on insta and always posting and interacting! So that's the best place to keep up with me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Article @Collen Demerez Model @Sonny Walker Agency @Next Models
