To Me from Me: Best menswear this week

Our Fashion Editor’s guide to the best menswear available right now

By Michael Rathbone

Started your Christmas shopping yet? Me neither. I’m quite a last minute shopper, but at this time of year I’m constantly thinking of what to buy others. Whether it’s Mum’s favourite fragrance or something for the office Secret Santa, we are inundated with Christmas gift ideas in magazines, on TV and online.

This week I present the best gifts that you can give yourself. And the best part: you can wear them right now if you want to, no waiting until the 25th. So see below for my pick of this weeks best self-gifting ideas.

Les Basics, £109, endclothing.com

This half zip fleece by Les Basics is perfect for layering up as the temperatures drop. Simple but so good. Available in multiple stylish colours, this Khaki number would be perfect for a winter walk.

Burberry, £1,150, burberry.com

The ultimate splurge, this Burberry backpack is a timeless piece, inspired by the military heritage of Burberry but feels so fresh.

Gramm, £30, gramm.co.uk

Gramm’s first collection WAX has really delivered the goods. This stripe scarf is the perfect wallet friendly treat.

pinqponq, €299.00, pinqponq.com

Forget everything you know about the humble shopping trolley. Loved by OAP’s everywhere, this rather handy contraption has been given a streetwear overhaul by Cologne based brand pinqponq. ‘The Kart’ is a remodel of their popular ‘Blok’ bag, and can be detached for added versatility.

Valentino, £655, selfridges.com

The dad-trainer trend is unlikely to slow down any time soon. Why not embrace it, and opt for this pair by Valentino. Perfect for pairing with some baggy Levi’s or why not style them up with some slim black trousers?

Filippa K, £270, filippa-k.com

Inspired by the slow speeds of nature, this 100% recycled and recyclable coat from Filippa K is sustainably made from plastic bottles to last for a decade or longer. It’s a classic style that does good for the environment. What’s not to love?

Maison Kitsuné x LE GRAMME, €270, maisonkitsune.com

This smooth brushed silver bangle bracelet in silver, designed by MAISON KITSUNE & LE GRAMME, blends the two brands signature styles, resulting in a refined piece of jewellery that is stylish without being too flashy.

Saint Laurent, £180, matchesfashion.com

Add some effortless Parisian cool to your daily routine with this Saint Laurent card holder.

Versace, £550, mrporter.com

Invest in some classic logomania in the form of this brilliant sweatshirt by Versace. Repurposing the classic logo with a fresh rainbow of pastel tones, this piece will see you right into spring.

Christopher Raeburn x Timberland, £135, christopherraeburn.co.uk

These cargo trousers (part of Raeburn’s collaboration with Timberland) are the perfect winter trouser. Made from organic cotton these would be perfect paired with an oversized hoodie and those chunky Valentino trainers above! With Raeburn recently appointed Global Design Director at Timberland, we can be sure to expect more brilliant pieces like this in the new year.
