Today, keeping one step ahead of the fashion world is not an easy feat. This is the same for the modelling world which is notorious for being extremely competitive.
Whilst success is never immediate, determination is the key to achievement.
This Sunday Talk is dedicated to one of the greatest models of today, who has starred in numerous commercial campaigns world-wide. One of Lewis Magazine’s cover boys, we love following his career progression!
Addis Miller has kindly offered to share his modelling journey and his tips on how to succeed in the industry.
Addis Miller, originally from Oxford, is currently the ‘face’ of international press and is now well-connected with a variety of designer brands and clients both nationally and internationally. Having studied criminology at university, he had planned to become a criminal profiler. Instead, modelling found him, and he now has his photo taken for a living.
Describing himself as ‘polite, smiley, confident and a fitness-addict’, Addis inhabits the space of both a model and, with social media playing a large part in his daily life, a full-time influencer.
There are many things that he loves about his job. Most notably, he adores travelling to unknown places which can turn into unforgettable experiences. This sense of job worth means that he can look into shop windows and see his incredible achievements.
Having been street-scouted, his energetic yet light-hearted personality has definitely helped him to grow in modelling. His concept of uniqueness consists of maintaining a high level of energy and being himself. Yet Addis does not think that everything is down to external appearance; he believes that personality and energy, amongst other components help you to get the high-profile jobs.
For those starting in the modelling industry? Addis advises you to not be nervous and to reach out to other models for advice – it is amazing how many people are keen to offer a helping hand!
