Got to have it: Best new menswear of the week

Our Fashion Editor’s pick of the best new menswear this week

By Michael Rathbone

This week, I’m excited to share some of my favourite new product launches from some of the coolest brands out there. From Cubitts frames inspired by Hollywood icons, to the brightest running trainers I’ve seen in a while from Asics. Take a look below for my pick of the best.

From £125,

Cubitts have created the most desirable optical frames of the season with the Rufford style. Inspired by Michael Caine’s portrayal of British Spy Harry Palmer, this contemporary interpretation of a 60s classic are perfectly suited to those who are in the market for a more substantial spectacle. Each frame is handmade and available in eleven elegant shades of Italian acetate, and will be on sale in Cubitts seven London stores, as well as online at

£160, selected retailers

Asics + Harmony Paris have delivered the ultimate running trainer with this neon-hued pair available at selected boutiques (End Clothing, Très Bien, Browns, Luisa Via Roma, and Slamjam) from Saturday 26th January. Entirely designed around performance, the GEL-KAYANO™ 25 model is equipped with the GEL™ shock absorbing technology. True to ASICS’ values, it has been designed to offer optimal comfort. Its FLYTEFOAM™ technology realise a lightweight and better bounce, while its midsole and the Jacquard Mesh upper enhances the comfort of the pair. I would style these with an all black outfit, to really let these stand out.

This jacket from Grenfell 1923 is the perfect trans-seasonal jacket. The cosy shearling collar is detachable, for when Spring finally arrives. The Mollison is a revival of one of the brands most iconic styles and is made from British Corduroy in London. A true investment in quality.

Temperatures are continuing to drop and I can’t think of a more stylish way to face the chill than this duffle coat from Gloverall. Duffle coats are set to be huge for AW19, having appeared on the runway at Pronounce, Kent & Curwen, Valentino and Berluti. Why not invest in next seasons trend now?

Want the features of a smart watch, but prefer a classic look? Why not try a hybrid. This watch by Kronaby retains the classic good looks of a swiss watch, while enabling the user to connect to their smartphone and receive notifications, count steps, find their phone and so much more.
