Lewis Fashion Journalist Collen Demerez coverage of the Fendi Show.
Fendi presented one of their strongest collections to date and was a standout show in Milan. Fendi through the years have always had amazing women’s collection but their men’s collections have never been able to compare, however, this season the men’s collection was taken up a few notches. The collection took inspiration from work wear and formal wear, really turning the 9 to 5 attire into something a little more fashionable and casual. The collection played with very masculine and traditional elements of the male garment and paired them with lighter and more feminine colours and materials. Creative Director of Fendi, Venturini Fendi said “Masculine executives used to be very rigid, in a box. But now it is different . . . I am very interested in normality; it is something I am obsessed by, but it is the Fendi normality.”. The collection was very tailored having tapered trousers and fitted shirts while bringing a relaxed feel to the looks using oversized outerwear. We loved the take on Friday work attire transitioning into a weekend look with more casual but still formal pieces.
