Casual dressing for that hellish hangover: Best menswear this week

Our Fashion Editor’s guide to the best menswear available right now

By Michael Rathbone

I love a good night out at Christmas, who doesn’t? I feel like I’ve been bombarded with tips on how to dress for the office party or night out with friends. This week, I’ve decided to show you the best new menswear that you can wear the day after, helping you deal with that dreaded hangover in style.

Weekday, £12, available from 13th December at

This t-shirt from Weekday’s christmas capsule is perfect for lazy days over the holidays. For the second year in a row Weekday has one holiday wish: “All we want for Christmas is social, political and economic equality for all genders regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, religion, ability and sexual orientation.” They have created a series of 5 t-shirts available from 13th December.

Balmain, £650,

This sweater from Balmain is the perfect way to keep the comfort levels high. Whether that’s out to the pub for hare of the dog, or lounging around the house.

Levi’s®, £55,

This fleece hoodie from Levi’s is the ultimate ‘hangover hoodie’. As a fan of all things Disney, I love the Mickey Mouse collaboration print, but ultimately I go to Levi’s for good quality pieces that I know will last.

Off White, £495,

Smarten up that t-shirt and jeans by adding this super comfortable flannel shirt by Off White. Perfect for spending time with friends over a roast dinner.

Converse, £65,

The One Star by Converse is the ultimate go to sneaker. Pair with jeans or sweats for that McDonald’s breakfast run.

Champion, £125,

As if the reverse weave hoodie wasn’t cosy enough, Champion have done one better with this velour number. Perfect for lounging on the sofa watching a good Netflix boxset. If you cant decide, I’m loving The Good Place.

Dr Martens, £135,

If the sweatpants and t-shirt look isn’t your thing, pair these Dr Martens with a pair of jeans and loose fit shirt for the ultimate smart-casual look.

Barbour Beacon, £159,

Can’t face getting out of bed? The next best thing is definitely a padded puffa. Wrap up in this one from Barbour Beacon.

Valentino, £950,

This beauty from Valentino is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. Perfect for keeping it smart the day after that heavy night out, why not wear on Christmas Day with some Levi’s?

Christopher Raeburn, £99,

Sweatpants are the ultimate hangover saviour, but that doesn’t mean they need to be baggy or ill-fitting. Choose this slim-fit pair from Christopher Raeburn.

Okay, so you’ve made it out of bed but have a pounding headache. How better to carry around those Berocca and paracetamol than in this waist bag by pinqponq?

Universal Works, £135,

This vintage style crew neck sweatshirt from Universal Works is the perfect hangover companion. Made from fleece for added comfort, you can throw this on with some sweatpants or jeans and instantly add some style to any outfit.

Versace, £335,

Really can’t face getting out of bed? Then choose the ultimate dressing gown from Versace.
